Books I have not finished ~Bonnie

These are the books I have yet to finish. Though, this picture is slightly deceiving. I have read City of Bones at least once. But we are going to start with the most recent to the worst. All of these I have put down for months and/or years. I have pretty much always read multiple books at a time and these are ones I have put down and not picked back up. So, here it goes.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I freaking love the shadowhunter world! These books are everything to me but I have never been one to reread books. I keep all my favorites; there is no way I can part with them. But I decided, sometime over the summer, that I was gonna read this again. I love it so very much, why not? I have 100 pages left to go and then I could say I have read a book twice. Seriously, 100 pages, that's it! Why not just do it already. But no it has sat for 6ish month just waiting to be finished again.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

This book I actually set down right before City of Bones. I am pretty sure that my bookmark was moved. I could have sworn I was way passed the 200 page mark. I really struggled with this one. I know that reading and loving a classic is not something that defines you as an "actual" reader. But I want to be able to say that I have read some of them. Or that I do really like such and such book that was written way back when. Someday, I will be able to say this. It just may not be someday soon.

After We Collided by Anna Todd

This one is really pretty bad. I started this at the beginning of the year and here we are almost to the end. These books are huge! I love this story, I really do. But I just don't know, I haven't been feeling it much these year. Not like I did at the beginning. I'll finish it, eventually. I only have maybe 300 pages left. I could finish that in a day. I really should just do it. My fear is, that if I push myself to read it when I am not feeling these type of book, I will push myself into a slump. I have been super into fantasy for so many months now, I kind of want to stay there for now.

The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon

This one is the very worst out of these. I started reading this book three years ago! I am probably half way through the book. The thing I love about these books is that I know exactly where I am in the story no matter how long it has been since I read them. Whenever I am in the mood for some Jamie and Clare, I pick this up and read. It may only be for the day or even just 50 pages, this book is always there for me.

I wouldn't say I actually dislike any of these. Even though I was struggling with Wuthering Heights, it isn't that I don't like it. I will give it a go again. Do you guys have any books you have set down and not picked back up yet?

If you do set down a book, when you pick it back up do you start all over? Or do you just continue where you left off? I tend to start where I left off. I might go back a chapter to get my bearings. Or if I didn't get very far into it to begin with, that is when I would start over.

Let me know in the comments!

Now that I am done with this post I think I will go finish that last bit of City of Bones!

Thanks for reading!

It's been awhile! ~Bonnie

Hello all! Sorry it has been so long! November has been a crazy month! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. And now that it is over I thought I had better get back to posting. I thought I would start with some of the books I have read recently.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I really enjoyed this book! The Grisha trilogy was good though it may have had some flaws I really saw Leigh Bardugo's writing seem to improve through the trilogy. With this first book of the new trilogy by her, I really thought the writing was spectacular. It was fun and exciting through out the book. Very much worth the read even if you haven't read the Grisha trilogy. I love this world it sounds so wonderful.

Hollywood Witch Hunter by Valerie Tejeda

This was another great book. I listened to it on audio book and loved it. Maybe not up there with a favorite but I really can't wait to read more of this witch hunter world.

Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman

This was another audio book for me and I really really enjoyed this one. I read quite a few reviews that said they couldn't get past the similarities with the Hunger Games, but honestly that is such a little part of the book. the blood tournament is overall a very small part of the entire book. I also read a review or two that was upset at how little this book stuck to what really happened to Alexander. Those reviews really got to me. Last I knew fiction was not true and that it didn't have to follow history truthfully. It was a very enjoyable story and I cannot wait for book two.

Winter by Marissa Meyer

OMG! I finally got to read this one and it was all the things I was hoping for! I love love love all of the Lunar Chronicles. All the characters and just everything about this series. It's all so wonderful. This last book kept me on edge the entire time. I am pretty sure it brought me to tears or almost tears a few times. The best book I have read of the last few months. If you have not read this series, please, please read it. It's so wonderful. And I found out a few days ago Marissa Meyer has a new series coming out and it is going to be based on the red queen from Alice in Wonderland. So looking forward to that. And really all books by Marissa Meyer, if she writes it, I will read it!

I have read way more than just these few books the last few months. But honestly that's a lot of books I would have to try and remember.

If you guys have read any of these books, let me know what you thought in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

November TBR!

Hey y'all!

Hope everyone is enjoying the change in weather!  I know I am.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.

I'm here with my November TBR.  I've been having trouble reading lately, so I thought if I could plan out my books for the month than maybe that will help.
.

1) Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

I have heard wonderful things about this one and I cannot wait to dive in!  It's about Harper Price, a Southern belle, who was born ready for a Homecoming tiara.  Then her destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird.  I'm so excited to jump into this story.  Almost to the point where I might just have to pick it up NOW!

2) Cress by Marissa Meyer

This is the 3rd book in The Lunar Chronicles.  With Winter coming out next week, I really need to get started on this one.  This series has been a slow progression for me.  I just finished Scarlet over the summer...

3) The Stand: Captain Trips by Stephen King

Not really sure what this is about; but, I knew I could not pass it up.  It was supposed to be in my Halloween books, but I missed the mark..  again - it's called a reading slump! :(

That's all I think I'll be able to get too.  Cress is going to take up a good chunk of the month, considering it's 552 pages!  I do have one book I'm right in the middle of, but I've been reading it since the beginning of October.

See ya in the next post!!
