Meeting Jennifer Brown ~Bonnie

Hello all! Hope all is well with everyone. Sorry it has been awhile since I have posted anything. As always everything has been busy, busy. But I have a few minutes before heading off to work so I thought I would work on a quick post.

Over this last weekend I got to go to my favorite book store, Reader's World and see Jennifer Brown. I was a little apprehensive about going. Mostly because I had not read anything by her before. Even though my niece, Keely, has been trying to get me to read Hate List for years.

My husband compared it to getting free tickets to a baseball game. We are still going to go even if we don't know anything about who is playing. I have never been to anything to see an author and it is something I have wanted to do.

While there I purchased, Hate List, Torn Away and of course the new one, Shade Me. Hate list, of course so that I could finally read it as Keely has been requesting. Torn Away, because this was recommended to me by the manager at Reader's World. We do quite a bit of book talking when I stop in and I trust her opinion. And the new one, cause well, that's what I wanted signed.

I think I had the best time ever that day and I am really glad I went. I am not sure if I could handle a big signing, like when Cassandra Clare is here in town later today. I can't really compare the two obviously but this seemed so much more intimate. I mean even her Mom and Dad stopped by to see her.

Jennifer Brown took some time to talk to us, to tell us about her starting her writing career. And of course to tell us about writing the new book. She was extremely nice, well spoken and is just a lovely person.

I have since read both Hate List and Torn Away. I am holding out on reading Shade Me only because there are going to be more. I may wait until we are closer to the next book coming out.

Hate List was a wonderful read. It was so well written and flowed so nicely I couldn't put it down. I have to be up for work no later than 3am and yet I stayed up passed 10pm devouring this book. Thanks Keely for the awesome recommendation! Also, being a parent I really appreciate the information in the back about bullying and getting help.

Torn Away was also a great read. I did not enjoy it as much as Hate List, but it was still good. And of course being a tornado and my living in the KC area it is something that could happen here.

I may have rambled a bit so my apologies. Also, I just found out that blogger has an app. I know I am way late here. I can't figure out how to add my pictures I had for this post. I'll try it again on the next one.

As always thanks for taking the time to read! If you have read these let me know what you thought! Or if you have met Jennifer Brown I would live to hear about it.

~~~~~Bonnie
