Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Gaurdin

I read this book over the last weekend and really enjoyed it. I would have to give it 4 stars. Since I read it so long ago now and failed again to take notes, I'm going to do my best with this.

I loved the writing of the book. I thought it was very well done. Even the flow of the book was great. It didn't feel slow to me or even rushed in places.

Having the back story of how Yael got to this point woven in the story worked wonderfully. It was nice to have the race broken up like that. Even though it is a very long race there is limited interactions with the characters. It felt almost like when it went back to "then," that maybe those were the things Yael was thinking about on her journey.

There is only one problem that I had with this book. It's not really a big thing but it is enough to bother me. (I'll try to make rhis as non-spoilery as possible.) There is a point in the book where Yael waits for over two hours for the next rider at a checkpoint. When they finally arrive it lists his time as only 10 minutes after hers. I don't understand how this is possible. Did I miss something? Was it a mistake? I have asked others that have read it and have yet to find an answer. It still haunts me almost a week after finishing the book. If someone knows please tell me.

I think that is all I have on this one. It was an enjoyable read and we'll worth it! Even if I am still haunted.

If you have read the book let me know what you thought.

Thanks for reading!
